You're in for a Treat

Cycling is a very French pastime. The image of a demur cyclist threading their way through the Parisian streets has become a stereotype, but it finds its roots in reality. Even in the busy metropolis that Paris has become, you can still enjoy plenty of gorgeous cycling routes. One route worth trying is the Alp d’Huez of Paris. It starts at the Metro Parmentier, and takes you along the tight Rue Overkampf. Once you pass Bvd de Belleville, your legs will be tested by the hills of the legendary Menilmontant. You’ll be inspired by the rustic and charming views, but there are also plenty of cafes where you can have a pit stop. Keep going and you’ll be rewarded by Rue du Belleville, the highest point in Paris at 485 feet. Or try out a semi-pro route, that takes you from the wooded west of Paris at its great park, the Bois de Boulogne, and brings you back into the centre towards the Trocadero.
