You're in for a Treat

The Natural History Museum is one of the most popular in the city, and for good reason. It is home to fossils dating back to the prehistoric age, has lifelike dinosaur replicas, a giant fibreglass blue whale, an impressive earthquake simulator and an entire area dedicated to creepy crawlies. It gets really busy at the museum, so either go when it opens in the morning or about an hour before closing. 10am-6pm. There are nature films screened throughout the day in the auditorium and large wildlife gardens where you can lose yourself in the plants and trees. The Natural History Museum is housed in a pretty spectacular building, too, a classic example of Romanesque architecture. Free entry.
