Secret Suppers

You're in for a Treat

How about instead of the usual trip to a restaurant, you have a specially prepared meal at a secret location? The allure of a secret supper is not only that you are often eating in someone’s home, but that you sometimes don’t even know who you will be eating with or what you will be eating. Sound intriguing? Try a secret dinner prepared by some of Paris’ most exciting chefs at various private locations all over the city. At Pierre Sang on Gambey (55 Rue Oberkampf, 75011) you only know the number of dishes you’ll consume – two, three, four or six courses, priced between €20 and €48 at lunchtime and €49 to €88 in the evening. Acr-Paris (11 Rue de Châteaudun, 75009) takes away some element of the unknown when Chilean chef Raimundo Briones takes your guest list and then gets to work organising a gourmet meal anywhere you’d like. Perhaps the most famous among Paris residents, Jim Haynes (83 Rue de la Tombe Issoire, 14th) will invite you to his secret Sunday dinner party at his former sculpture studio – where he has throwing these culinary parties for strangers for the last 30 years. If you’re up for something new on your nights out, give a secret supper in Paris a go.
